Happy Thanksgiving to all

Another Thanksgiving is now approaching.  It's time to say thanks for all the many blessing that we have received.  In that spirit, I'd like to share a poem that was shared with me by Zimma Jones during our senior year.  I didn't know at the time that this was written by Frank Stanton and published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 1925.  I think this carries an important message that we all should remember. I hope you enjoy.   Happy Thanksgiving!!

KEEP A-GOIN’

Author: by Frank L. Stanton (1857-1927)

If you strike a thorn or rose,
Keep a-goin'!
If it hails or if it snows,
Keep a-goin'!
'Taint no use to sit an' whine
When the fish ain't on your line;
Bait your hook an' keep a-tryin'--
Keep a-goin'!

When the weather kills your crop,
Keep a-goin'!
Though 'tis work to reach the top,
Keep a-goin'!
S'pose you're out o' ev'ry dime,
Gittin' broke ain't any crime;
Tell the world you're feelin' prime--
Keep a-goin'!

When it looks like all is up,
Keep a-goin'!
Drain the sweetness from the cup,
Keep a-goin'!
See the wild birds on the wing,
Hear the bells that sweetly ring,
When you feel like singin', sing--
Keep a-goin'!

Passing of another class member - Bill Bargeron

Once again, I have sad news to post.....the passing of another class member.

Bill Bargeron passed on November 4, 2009. He aparently was involved in an auto accident over the weekend of Oct 30-Nov 1 and was released to come home. He stopped breathing while at home and was rushed to the hospital. He was unable to be revived. As I know it right now, the visitation will be Saturday, November 7 and funeral will be November 8. Brad anderson Funeral Home in Reidsville is in charge of arrangements.

Please keep his family in your prayers.
