Update

For those that don't know, we've lost 2 RHS teachers since this time last year.

Mel Kelly, the band director during our senior year, passed in December, 2008 in South Carolina. He taught is several locations after leaving RHS. Most recently, he taught and lived in South Carolina. Mel will be fondly remember for his smiles and fun times with the band. Mel is survived by his wife and 3 sons and their families including several grandchildren.

Most recently, Don Fogal, a music teacher and the first band director at RHS, passed on Oct 19, 2009 at his home in Waycross from an apparent heart attack. Don was 60 years young. Don will be fondly remembered for his caring, easy going manner and willingness to start a band at RHS. Don was a retired Methodist Minister and had returned to teaching music at Brantly County High School. Many of you may have taken piano lessons from his wife, Judy, during their stay in Tattnall County. Don is survived by his wife, 5 children and their families including several grandchildren.
